Herrfors Spot+

A Spot contract is based on the hourly price in the electricity market (Nord Pool). You pay for electricity according to what it costs each hour. The price can vary significantly depending on the time of day and the season.

The electricity price is determined directly according to the Finnish price area of the Nord Pool electricity exchange, hour by hour. The final amount includes the seller’s margin, value-added tax, and the basic fee. You can see the exact prices on your invoice and in our online service or mobile app.

You can follow electricity prices on our website as well as in the Herrfors app. Prices are published the previous day at around 2 p.m.

In the Spot+ contract, the electricity price consists of the spot price and the seller’s margin (cents/kWh). In addition, the contract includes a fixed monthly basic fee. The margin is the seller’s share for each kilowatt-hour consumed, and the basic fee is the fixed monthly cost of the contract regardless of consumption. Your final bill is made up of the accumulated hourly spot price + margin and the month’s basic fee.

Yes. The Spot contract is especially suitable for customers who can time their electricity consumption. For example, by shifting laundry, electric car charging, or heat pump use to cheaper times, you can significantly reduce your electricity bill.

Because the price varies according to market conditions, it can rise quickly, for example during cold weather or exceptional situations. The spot price is not suitable for everyone, but especially for those who can tolerate price fluctuations or can adjust their consumption. You can significantly reduce the risks by making price fixes.

Yes, you can. Spot+ is an open-ended contract, so you can switch to another product at any time by notifying us.

If you move, the Spot contract will not automatically transfer to your new address. You can terminate your contract in our online service and at the same time make a new contract. You can also contact our customer service before moving, and we will ensure that electricity is available in your new home.

Yes. If your current contract is open-ended, this new contract can take effect in place of the previous one. If you have a fixed-term contract, you can make a new contract to start after the old one ends.

Renewable energy is not automatically included in the electricity contract, but you can choose it as an additional service. By choosing renewable electricity, you reduce your carbon footprint and support cleaner energy production.

E-invoicing is an easy and secure way to pay your electricity bill. You can activate e-invoicing in your own online bank by searching for Oy Herrfors Ab as the biller and entering the requested details from your invoice. After that, the invoices will be sent directly to your online bank for approval.

The transmission system operator Fingrid charges a balancing service fee for all electricity consumption, which we pass on to our customers. Starting from 1 September 2025, the fee will be 0.135 c/kWh + VAT. In the future, we will adjust the electricity sales price according to any changes in Fingrid’s balancing service fee without sending a separate notification. You can always check your current electricity sales price on our website or on your electricity bill.
